Sleep problems are one of the most common side effects for cancer survivors. The results of a study of 400 cancer survivors was reported at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting June 4-8 in Chicago. The controlled trial measured sleep quality, fatigue and quality of life and showed significant improvements in all three areas for those that enrolled in a 4 week yoga program. Ninety six percent of the participants were women, with a mean age of 54 years, and 75% were breast cancer survivors.
