We are on a mission to improve the lives of cancer patients and those who care for them. We are cancer survivors, we are family and friends of cancer patients and survivors. We care about our customers and we are passionate about our purpose.


We started with a simple idea.

Navigating Cancer was founded in 2008 as the result of two healthcare and technology veterans coming together to fill a critical gap in oncology care: a better patient experience.

Driven by a shared passion to leverage technology in the healthcare space, the co-founders set out to create the first patient-centered platform for oncology.

Today, our Navigating Care platform supports over one million patients and thousands of cancer care providers nationwide to lower costs, improve patient satisfaction and drive better outcomes.

Leadership Team

Bill Bunker
Bill Bunker Chief Executive Officer

Bill has spent the last twenty years of his career building software and data companies in the Pacific Northwest. As CEO and President of multiple companies, he brings extensive experience in the healthcare market and software development to Navigating Cancer. Prior to joining, he held leaderships roles at technology companies including Kernal Labs, EagleView Technologies, Clarity Health and Vertafore. Bill earned his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Gena Cook
Gena Cook Co-Founder and President

Gena has over 20 years of healthcare experience with 18 years directly in the cancer field. Prior to Navigating Cancer, she was VP, Sales and Marketing for McKesson Specialty Care Solutions. Previously, Gena was VP, Sales and Marketing for Oncology Therapeutics Network (OTN), At OTN and McKesson, Gena was responsible for the $3.5B physician services organization that provided technology, distribution, group purchasing and financial services into oncology and rheumatology physician offices. She has also held a variety of leadership positions with Bristol-Myers Squibb in her 12-year tenure. Gena received her B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington.

Gena serves as the Chair of the National Comprehensive Cancer Centers (NCCN) Foundation Board and the ONS Edge Board. She is also a member of the Washington Cares about Cancer Survivorship Taskforce and the National Coalition of Oncology Nurse Navigators (NCONN) Survivorship Taskforce.

Michael Graff
Michael Graff Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer

Michael has managed many software-development projects and teams over his 20-year career in technology. Prior to Navigating Cancer, Michael was an executive with Ancestry.com, serving as Senior VP and General Manager responsible for consumer & family site strategy, design and development. Previously, Michael spent 14 years at Microsoft as a General Manger, Product Unit Manager and Group Product Manager for products such as Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, Office, MapPoint, Streets & Trips, and Windows Mobile. At Microsoft, Michael launched multiple version 1.0 products and led businesses targeting consumers, enterprises, and software developers. Michael earned his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Idaho.

Bobby Thomas
Bobby Thomas Chief Technology Officer

Bobby, a trusted healthcare technology advisor to leadership at a number of companies, has more than 20 years of experience in engineering customer focused transformation of businesses in digital healthcare & data strategy; organization design and restructure; cloud architecture and managing delivery of large complex programs. Prior to joining Navigating Cancer, Bobby served as the VP of Digital Architecture & Engineering at Intuitive Surgical Inc. He was also the VP of Product Architecture and Platform Engineering at Edifecs. Bobby has held technology leadership roles at several large national healthcare insurance organizations. At Blue Shield of California, he served as the Chief Architect and Director of IT Applications.

Linda Smith
Linda Smith VP of Provider Solutions

Linda Smith has 20 years of leadership experience in capital equipment and informatics for healthcare companies. She led Neuroscience sales and marketing in the U.S. for Elekta, Inc., the manufacturer of the Leksell Gamma Knife and Linear Accelerators. Linda also has operations experience with Elekta where she managed the order fulfillment team and entire product portfolio backlog of $500M USD. Most recently, Linda served as Vice President of Commercial Transformation, where she led the global sales team on the adoption of Salesforce.com. Earlier in her career she gained extensive health care informatics experience with IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc. Linda holds a M. A. with Honors from Saint Joseph College, West Hartford, CT, and a Bachelor’s degree with Honors from the University of Rhode Island.

Linda Smith
Stacy Mecham VP of Pharmaceutical Solutions

Stacy offers over 15 years of pharmaceutical commercialization experience, the majority of which is dedicated to the oncology space. Throughout her career, she has led strategic research and consulting functions in the Academia, Pharmaceutical and Professional Services sectors. Stacy’s expertise in Oncology focuses on Data and Analytics, Business Development, Executive Client Management, Sales Force Effectiveness and Launch Strategy. She has worked for top bio-pharmaceutical companies, leading market research and consulting functions for in-line oncology agents. Prior to joining Navigating Cancer, Stacy was the Oncology Center of Excellence Lead within IQVIA’s Primary Intelligence group. Stacy has a B.A. in Psychology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology, specializing in Behavioral Research, from Temple University.

Adrian Pike
Adrian Pike Director of Engineering

Adrian Pike has been building technology startups in a variety of ways for nearly twenty years. He has extensive expertise with early and mid-stage startups, helping grow both technology platforms and the teams to drive them. Prior to joining Navigating Cancer, he worked with a consultancy, driving technical innovation for clients in the credit union space. Adrian also co-founded and grew Stride, a web-based CRM that was laser focused on consultants and independent contractors. Stride was acquired in late 2013. Adrian earned his BS in Computer Science from Western Washington University.
