What’s the best thing about working for Navigating Cancer?
Everyone you work with is a good person and there are opportunities to interact with some truly brilliant people. We solve meaningful problems and our projects always feel like “Team vs. the Problem” which is a nice headspace to be in.
How have you grown professionally while on our team?
Several challenging projects have significantly helped me improve my craft, with my favorite contributions being towards the beginnings of our dbt project and NC Insights analytics suite. Overall, I enjoy when I can contribute to a wide range of projects, and having the opportunity to work up and down our data stack has allowed me to build confidence in many new domains.
What’s the most unique job you ever had before working here?
During my summers in college, I worked as a busser and dishwasher at a floating restaurant on the Columbia River. My favorite moments were the dinner-rush when the kitchen was in chaos trying to turn out the orders and everyone’s hustling. I still make a point to go back and eat there once a year.
What can you be found doing outside of work?
I’m an avid downhill mountain biker. I live in Bellingham, WA, which is home to many great trail systems that are accessible year-round. I also make frequent trips up to Squamish and Whistler Mountain Bike Park in the summer.
What’s your secret talent no one knows about?
Given the right tools, I can make you a fantastic cup of pour-over coffee and fix any part of your bicycle.
