The Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF), the leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to discovering a cure for carcinoid cancer, announced that it has established a partnership with Navigating Cancer. Navigating Cancer, www.navigatingcancer.com, is a free web application that offers personalized tools and authoritative cancer resources to help patients take control of their health and partner more closely with their physicians, support network and other like patients.

As part of its partnership, CFCF has assisted Navigating Cancer in compiling authoritative information related to carcinoid cancer. Together, CFCF and Navigating Cancer can now offer patients the most current, up-to-date information on carcinoid cancer in combination with innovative and unique online tools for cancer patients, including a group where carcinoid patients can connect with each other and learn from credible discussions that are powered by CFCF.

Carcinoid cancer is relatively rare with between 11,000 and 12,000 new patients diagnosed each year in the United States, indicating the significant need for a personalized service that will help carcinoid cancer patients take effective control of their care and become involved in a strong community of like individuals. CFCF’s Executive Director, Lauren Erb stated, œI am excited to partner with Navigating Cancer so that we can be more effective in achieving our common goals of connecting, supporting and empowering patients.
