Some of us have dedicated our careers to the cancer field, some of us have dedicated our careers to helping people use technology to improve their lives and some of us just like helping people. We’re really proud of our work and our team here at Navigating Cancer.
Meet Chris Paredes, a Software Engineer on our Next Generation Apps team:
Briefly describe your role.
I work as a software engineer on the next generation apps team with Richie, our Chief Architect, and Gene, a stellar engineer. We get to do really exciting platform work to take our products to the next level.
Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere! I read just about everything I can get my hands on. I’m also constantly searching for new music, and I have a lot of amazing friends, family and co-workers who inspire me every day.
What’s one of your favorite technologies?
Right now it’s my Fishman TriplePlay that lets me use my guitar as a wireless midi controller.
Do you have a go to app?
I would have to say the Day One journaling app.
Star Trek or Star Wars?
No contest, Star Wars!!! The first Star Wars movie was also the first movie I ever saw when I was a kid.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?
I’m less than two months from graduating with a masters degree in psychology, so a lot of my time goes to that. Otherwise, I’m either making music or just spending time with friends. I also love to travel any chance I get.
Little-known fact about you that would surprise people?
I was an extra on Lost when I lived in Hawaii.
